Why Carshare?

Not everybody needs or wants to own a car. Especially when you consider that most of us only drive our cars a few hours a week,  which means we spend a lot of money for them to just sit there depreciating. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense in urban settings!
 

Carsharing is a great way to save money by only paying for a car when you actually need it. According to AAA, the average cost to own a car is $9,000 a year when you factor in car payments, gas, parking, insurance, and maintenance. That's a lot!

Using a carshare car a handful of times a month for those necessary trips can save you thousands of dollars a year.

How Does It Work?

It really couldn't be easier to use River & Rich's community car. Here's how to get started.
  1. Download the app
  2. Follow the step-by-step signup process
  3. Get verified to drive*
  4. Schedule a ride using the app
  5. Unlock the car using your phone
  6. Unplug the car and start your trip
  7. Return, plugin, and end your trip
  8. Repeat as needed
*Because insurance is provided, a motor vehicle record check is required to start using River & Rich's carshare service. There is a one-time $8 fee to run the MVR check but once approved, two hours of driving credits will be applied to your account.

$8/hr

It only costs $8/hr to use River & Rich's shared car. That includes everything from electricity to insurance and up to 25 miles of driving per hour.
